This module concentrates on the computational aspects of bioinformatics, while at the same time providing you with enough background in the biosciences to appreciate the contexts in which computation is applied. The Honours Specialization in Bioinformatics leads to a degree that is accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Council, the academic arm of the Canadian Information Processing Society, under its interdisciplinary program criteria.

One of: Math of Data Management (MDM4U), Biology (SBI4U), Chemistry (SCH4U), Physics, SPH4U, Earth and Space Sciences (SES4U), Computer and Information Science (ICS4U)
You'll need Biology SBI4U and Chemistry SCH4U for first-year Biology and Chemistry courses. First-year Biology and Chemistry courses are required for all modules offered by the Department of Biology and for some modules offered by the Department of Chemistry and other Science departments.
